Book Awards News

It's not too late to take Natalie's advice: Vote for your favorite author in the Minnesota Book Awards. Votes will be accepted until the end of March, but only one vote per person. Use this link to the voting page. (You will need to login on that page to vote.)

This coming Friday, the 18th, is a special Readers' Choice Event. This is FREE! It is being held as an opportunity for readers to meet the authors whose work has been nominated. Wine and refreshments will be served. Use this link for all the details of where and when.

And, of course, the winners will be presented at The Awards Gala, to be held on April 16th. Reservations and tickets are required for this event. Use this link for more information and to make ticket purchases.

Now is the Time to Read

Whoa, the next book club meeting is less than two weeks away. And this weekend we need to 'spring forward' to enact Daylight Savings Time. So that chops out another hour.

But there is still time, I think, to read this month's selection, The Tall Pines Polka, by Lorna Landvik. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 22nd, 6:30 p.m. at the library. Be sure to mark your calendars.

Also, for those who like to plan ahead: April's book will be A Private History of Awe, by Scott Russell Sanders. Meeting for discussing this book will be on April 26th.
